One such remarkable personality is Ramesh Joginder Singh Chandra, a retired Master Chief from the Indian Navy Submarine Arm, whose life story is a shining example of patriotism, discipline, and excellence.

His journey through the depths of the oceans and years of dedicated service to India has earned him immense respect and admiration.

Recognizing his remarkable contributions and inspiring journey, he has been nominated for LEO MEDIA DIGITAL’S prestigious “MOM DAD GOD OF UNIVERSE 2026 AWARD – SEASON 3,” a unique and globally significant initiative dedicated to honoring the parents and family values behind successful personalities. The grand event is scheduled to take place in Mumbai under the leadership of Dr. Keval Kumar and Pratibha K. Saini.

The life of Ramesh Joginder Singh Chandra reflects unwavering dedication to the service of the nation. During one of the most crucial chapters in India’s history, he became part of the 1971 India–Pakistan War, contributing to the country’s defense with courage and determination. His service during such a defining period speaks volumes about his patriotism and commitment toward safeguarding the nation.

As a distinguished Veteran Submariner, he served aboard some of India’s most strategically important submarines. He commissioned INS Vagli and INS Chakra, India’s first Nuclear Submarine, marking a significant milestone in the country’s naval advancement. His contribution extended beyond operations as he also played a major role in the renovation and modernization of two submarines in Russia, demonstrating his technical expertise and leadership capabilities on an international level.

Possessing exceptional technical brilliance, Ramesh Chandra specialized as an engineer in Electronic Warfare Equipment and NBCD (Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Damage) Control Systems, areas that demand precision, responsibility, and high-level expertise. His academic accomplishments further strengthened his professional excellence.

He graduated in Nuclear Science from the Institute of Defence Studies, Vladivostok, Russia, a remarkable achievement that reflects his dedication to mastering advanced technologies and strategic defense systems.

Beyond his achievements at sea, he also played a vital role in shaping future generations of naval professionals. He served as Department In-Charge of Electrical and Electronics Faculty at the Submarine Squadron in Visakhapatnam and later in Mumbai. Through his mentorship, knowledge, and leadership, he contributed significantly to developing skilled and capable naval personnel.

His devotion and extraordinary service did not go unnoticed. For his outstanding contributions in submarine services, he was appreciated as a Submarine Veteran during the President of India Submarine Colours Award Ceremony, an honor that symbolizes excellence and dedication.

Even after retirement, his commitment to society continues.

Recently, on 10th March, he was invited as a Special Invitee for the commissioning ceremony of India’s third Scorpion Class Submarine, reflecting the high regard and respect he continues to receive within naval circles.

Apart from national service, he is actively involved in humanitarian initiatives as a Senior Member and Co-Chair in Rotary Club District 3141, continuing his mission of serving society.

Ramesh Joginder Singh Chandra is not just a decorated naval veteran; he is a true inspiration whose life proves that dedication to duty, love for the nation, and commitment to humanity create an everlasting legacy.
